Today Monday the 8th September also the 8th day of fasting, one week gone and three weeks left some may say whilst I say one week of mercy and blessing has passed us by without actually doing much of prayer, dua, dhikr or extra nafl prayer.  So we have to spend more time on getting those doubles or extra rewards point this week.It seems time is not on our side which reminds me of Surah Al Asr (103), when Allah says 1. By (the Token of) Time (through the ages), 2. Verily Man is in loss, 3. Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy.

Translation of Yusuf Ali

Last week from Sunday night at the beginning of taraweeh, I went to the mosque early so I can get a seat at the main hall of ELM, whilst seating and doing some dhikr, I remembered from our one day Ramadan intensive by sheikh Ahmed Saad that we should come up with a plan, a daily guide, a guide that was actually in our free handbook given on that course. So quickly I grabbed my pen and wrote on the back of the Ramadan intensive flyer (that was conveniently left in my jacket pocket) a daily list of activities.. Went something like this

Monday to Friday

10am – 5pm Work

5pm – 6pm Rest

6pm – 7pm Help mum or read book

7pm – 8pm Read Quran

8pm – 9pm Iftar and rest

9pm – 12 Tarawaeeh

12pm – onwards Sleep

4am – 5am Eat Sehri, read Quran and Read Fajr in Jamaat

That was just the weekday planned, I felt a sense of relive as well as joy, Insha Allah if I keep to this plan I would be doing justice to myself for the pleasure of Allah.

Guess what.. I rarely kept to it apart from all the Fards prayers and the food times, just had so much to do, personal, work just got in the ways on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and that was it Friday came and the weekend was booked to….

I did not waste all my time doing ‘idle talk’ (taken from a brother who called in on Saturday night 6th at MCR- very brother) most of my time was very productive either dealing with easy talk website or issues or at home shopping or painting, cleaning and kept to the part helped my sister out clearing table at Sehri – still do that every morning.Weekend went so fast, I did not even see it coming, and if I write what I have been doing, I would need another couple of pages; don’t wish to bore you anymore.

May Allah gives me reward and forgive me for my shortcomings in this first blessed week.
