Listen to the Podcast >>>>>>> * (6.13m) Starts. In the studio - Brs Azad, MAK and wahooo Br Abjol is back! * (15.20m) Discussion - MP Damien Green getting arrested. - They’re going on about MP rights and that they shouldn’t be searched etc, what about our rights? Why is it acceptable to search Muslims and not him? - Discussion on leaking information, duties of civil servants and whistle blowing. Both the Conservative and Labour parties leak information and have leaked information to score points. It’s politics. - How do you have a robust system where you can ensure your employees are not doing what they shouldn’t be? Br Abjol:- Question is, was Green breaking the law by encouraging the civil servant to massage information out? He’s saying he didn’t massage the information out and the evidence will prove what the case is. It’s point scoring at the moment and there’s political capital being gained from it. But as a result, the House are putting more rules in and no doubt laws will be amended too. - Little on Boris Johnson getting into trouble for visiting Damien Green after his arrest. Green is still under investigation and it’s a conflict of interest for Boris, as chair of MPA (Metropolitan Police Authority), to visit him under the circumstances. * (21.35m) Reading out text messages.. (If you’re baffled as to why br MAK insinuates that eating cake first and tandoori next is a Beanibazaari/Gulapgonji thing, then I have no answers for you. The brother is strange and he says some very inaccurate and strange things.. What to do? )* (24.13m) Discussion – John Sentamu (Archbishop of York) calling for Robert Mugabe to be removed. Why is someone whose meant to be ‘peaceful’ calling for this? Who is he to call for that? Would a Muslim be able to get away with saying that about a leader? - Argument that article is being misread; he hasn’t called for violent removal. It’s probably regarding democratic removal. - But he doesn’t mention democratic removal so you can’t read that into it either. - He is asking for regime change because he didn’t have to say ‘the time to remove him from power has come.’ - Point that he might have said it from a Christian and moralistic point of view. - He seems to be saying ‘remove Mugabe by any means necessary.’ - All agreed on that. * (31.40m) Reading out more text messages. Br MAK, please do refer to Azad bhai when it comes to pronouncing the word ‘walrus’ correctly. (I know, I know.. it IS a bit shocking that Azad bhai actually got it right!) * (35.30m) MR WONG!!! Here to talk to everyone about Day of Arafat, Eid and Qurbani (Sacrificing)! ’You kent do it in the countryside.. iyeegal..you have to do it in the, balconeee so nobody see it..’ ‘It ken be lital chickeen n u get lital rewarrr’ ‘mayb it kent be chickeen, mayb I get it wong, but it ken be lital lamb, kent it?’ * (37.25m) Update on Interpal news. – Chair of Lloyds TSB belongs to group ‘Friends of Israel’. Please get your MPs to sign the early day motion, check forum for details. * (40.15m) Reading out more text messages – mainly appreciation for Mr Wong. (No mistakes whilst reading this time, WOWZA, well done! * (42.50m) Discussion - Latest on Palestine. - Explanation of video showing Hebron shooting (that's on the Guardian page) - Occupiers are shooting Palestinians. - Press TV documentaries are really good. - Br Kalam talking about the meeting with Aloha reps and their discussion re: Israel panicking because the call for one democratic state is receiving more and more support. - Disgust over Ehud Barak going into Hebron to negotiate with settlers to try bring them out. * (49.35m) Discussion – Imam of mosque/burial place refused to bury ‘terrorists’ Clarification – rights of people should be fulfilled no matter what major crime is committed by them – they deserve to be buried islamically. - Imam cowardly, he is denying someone’s aqida. He didn’t have to go so far and say they’re not Muslim. If he had a problem, he could have simply said that he didn’t want to bury them in his graveyard. - Wanting to score brownie points. - Br Kalam relays what an Indian Alim told him re: Mumbai attacks. He said that the extent of the pressure that the Indian Ulama and Muslim Community in Mumbai are facing will not be evident to us over here in England. Also in regards to above, firstly we should know for sure whether the Imam did say that X were not Muslims and then we should ask, were the attackers Muslims? Do we know for sure? Do we have the facts? Because we don’t have the facts or know who it was. It could have been Hindus, Sikh terrorists or etc - details are still murky. - The whole blame on Pakistan being behind the incident was led by America/Britain – CNN and FOX, more than India. * (54.55m)- Whilst on Mumbai attacks, Amitabh Bachchan's daroon comment when he rejected Bill Clinton's invitation to an event. *(56.10m) Daroon Chart – Number Three! * (1hr 1m) Reading out text messages! ..DOOSTI? What IS that? To all the hindi and urdu speakers out there, I apologise sincerely and heartfeltedly that Br Azad is ruining your lovely language! * (1hr 2.55m) Discussion - Madani Girls School issue. Br Abjol retelling what went down and what his argument was with the councillors in regards to this issue. Br Abjol smacks it!!! Islamophobic undercurrent is the bigger issue because they had more of a problem with Islamic ethos than the fact that taxpayer’s money was being wasted. * (1hr 10.25m) Reading text messages and interesting facts! (Br Kalam makes another mistake and also has to be taught the word ‘nostril’. He even reads an email out wrong. (Sigh) It’s SO not TO and 7PM not 5PM brother.. SIGH. *(1hr 16m) Daroon Chart – Number Two! * (1hr 19.30m) Reading more text messages, more interesting facts. DUST is DEAD SKIN!!! * (1hr 21m) NB: We have a new brother in the studio!!!! It’s Uncle Ajab! Ahh and we also find out WHY Br MAK is having SUCH an awful day reading out text messages - he’s apparently ILL. (Righhhhttt.. as if he aint always been ill in the head. What’s new? )* (1hr 22.55m) Little discussion on US Presidential Pardons. Fear that George Bush is going to give himself a pardon before he leaves. * (1hr 25.12m) Discussion – Shannon Matthews. Whose fault is it? Bulk of blame on mother but wider society at blame too because there’s no divine Islam in people’s lives. No god-consciousness and no responsibilities. *(1hr 36m) Daroon Chart – NUMBER ONE!!! * (1hr 40.55m) More text messages, more reading of interesting facts! Brothers also TRY to diss the Transition. Guess we should rate their efforts. No matter how unsuccessful they are, they do try.. bless em. * (1hr 43.10m) Important point re: terrorism. A lot of people have bought into this ‘war on terror’ argument. - Point that you should refuse to use the term ‘terrorists’ for every incident. Br Azad isn’t using the term for the Mumbai attacks because we don’t know whether what happened was what would be termed as ‘terrorism’. Point – On the other hand, you can oversimplify and use the term 'terrorism' for a lot of incidents. For example, a bank robbery – because you are terorrising the people in the bank. - Main point however – there were attacks on Mumbai, there were shootings and a hostage situation. Call it as you see it but don’t take it further and call it terrorism without proof. * (1hr 45.15m) Final reading of text messages. Just bout to round up.. BUT the regular (mostly non-funny) jokes are posted.. so brothers read out a few! * (1hr 51.15m) Round Up! “We should never ever be complacent with our faith, rather we should always be concerned about the levels of our faith and the level of our commitment to Allah’s deen and love of Allah.. AND to the love of our parents. Because after belief in Allah, the next obligation is to show respect to our parents. So set out a target so that every day we do something that brings us not only closer to Allah swt but also closer to our parents and our families insha Allah. May Allah give us the tawfiq insha Allah! Ameen.” Quote by ibn Rajab al Hanbali “The wealth of every man is judged by what he seeks. None can put the value to one who seeks Allah, for this is immeasurable. As for the one who seeks after the world, he is too lowly to be valued.”
